Russia has plans to cut off exports of food and agricultural products, which the Kremlin says was a ‘hidden weapon,’ to about 50 foreign, “non-friendly states” which have imposed sanctions on Russia for its invasion of Ukraine.
Medvedev claims that existing Russian products are enough to fully meet domestic needs.
He noted that restrictions on imports of products from Western countries into Russia had been in force since 2014, but its expansion is possible.
“We will not give dinner to the enemy,” Medvedev wrote.
Georgia is not on the list of non-friendly states as Tbilisi has refused to impose sanctions on Russia, stating that the move would have affected Georgians, not Russia. However, the Georgian authorities say that the country has supported Ukraine in all international platforms.
Medvedev created a telegram channel shortly after Russia invaded Ukraine as Facebook and Twitter were blocked in Russia.
Now he attacks Western countries via telegram, threatens to cut off gas supplies to them, and openly points to US President Joe Biden’s “mental health problems.”
