Russian citizens have bought more than 15,000 buildings and 14,000 plots of land in Georgia over the past eight months, out of which 13,262 were residential flats, the country’s justice ministry confirmed.
In 2021, 3,739 Russian citizens registered ownership rights to 4,332 real estate in Georgia, while the figure in 2020 stood at 4,332 real estate by 3,739 Russian citizens.
Thousands of Russians have entered Georgia since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict in late February of the last year, reportedly escaping sanctions imposed on their country and a military call.
