The year 2020 is also different in that the employees of the Russian diplomatic service were expelled from different European countries in batches. The only reason for such steps was that they were active in espionage in the host countries, and that did not correspond to their diplomatic status. These spies were caught more than once, because their skills "Stirlitz" are effective only on the Kremlin papers. In 2020, the Russian Foreign Ministry had a record number of persona non grata.
And 2021 began with a completely scandalous and ridiculous story of the Russian diplomatic service, and behind which, after all, there are malicious Kremlin special services. Of course, it is also enough that the citizens of the whole world and the Russians themselves make fun of them for trying to poison the oppositionist Navalny by applying Novichok to his underwear. A few days ago, it turned out that a "professional" Russian diplomat was expelled from Albania for violating the restrictions imposed to combat the coronavirus pandemic. Albanian authorities have already declared Russian diplomat Alexei Krivosheev persona non grata. The diplomat was given 72 hours to leave this country. On the official website of the Russian Embassy in Albania, it is said that Alexei Viktor Krivosheev is the first secretary of this department.
“Continued violations of security rules during a pandemic can no longer be justified and tolerated. We hope that such a decision will be correctly perceived by the Russian side as a necessary measure to protect the health and safety of Albanians,” the Albanian government said in a statement.
According to the Albanian authorities, information about Krivosheev's violation of coronavirus restrictions has been received since April 20. As it turned out, the Albanian authorities repeatedly appealed to the Russian Ambassador, Mikhail Afanasyev, who promised that his employee would not repeat this behavior, but he continued to ignore the requests and did not fulfill the promise. “Unfortunately, contrary to promises, the diplomat continued to violate the measures taken … With regret, the Albanian government decided to declare him persona non grata with an obligation to leave the country,”- the Albanian Foreign Ministry said in a statement. That is, the fact is that Russian diplomats do not respect the authorities and citizens of the countries in which they work so much that even after warnings and requests they ignore the rules and regulations.
The Russian Foreign Ministry and the embassy in Tirana called the accusations against their employee baseless and a provocation. As always, Lavrov's department intends to act in a mirror-like manner. However, it is possible that now in Russian diplomatic textbooks they will introduce instructions on how to wear medical masks correctly so that the whole world no longer makes fun of them on this topic.
