The Russian opposition politician Vladimir Kara-Murza has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for “treason and the spread of fake information about the Russian army”.
Kara-Murza was arrested on April 11 of last year because “the policemen saw how he changed the trajectory of the movement”, then a protocol was drawn up under the article of “disobedience to the police”. The next day, he was transferred to a special detention facility for 15 days, where he was accused in the case of “fake information” about the Russian army.
It soon became clear that the official reason for the criminal case against him was his speech in the US House of Representatives of Arizona on March 15, 2022.
“We know exactly from history how the time of dictators ends. It always ends the same. Today, the whole world is seeing what Putin’s regime is doing with Ukraine. He throws bombs. residential houses, hospitals and schools. These are war crimes committed by the Kremlin’s dictatorial regime against the central European nation. And, unfortunately, that is where the Putin years have taken us,” he said in Arizona.
