Russians not invited to Munich security conference

Representatives of the Russian government will not be invited to one of the world’s most prestigious international forums – the Munich Security Conference.

According to the head of the forum, German diplomat Christoph Heusgen, official representatives of Russia will not be invited to the 2023 conference, as the platform will not be used for propaganda.

“Russian officials are not invited to the Munich Security Conference 2023. We will not give them a platform for their propaganda. We want to discuss Russia’s future with Russian opposition leaders and exiled people – Their voices need to be heard and amplified”, he said.

World leaders, heads of governments, politicians and public figures traditionally gather at the Munich Security Conference. At the 2023 forum, which will be held in February, one of the main topics will be the war in Ukraine.
