Three Georgian lawmakers are set to attend the first summit of the Alliance of Sovereign Nations in the United States, Rustavi 2 reported on Monday.
The chair of parliament’s Foreign Relations Committee, Nikoloz Samkharadze, the chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee, Mariam Lashkhi, and a member of the European Integration Committee, Lika Shartava, will travel to Washington at the invitation of Republican congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna.
The summit is scheduled to take place on 4-5 March 2026 in Washington, under Luna’s honorary chairmanship.
According to organisers, the two-day strategic dialogue will focus on strengthening cooperation and deepening relations among participating countries. Discussions will also address what is described as a future-oriented path to counter globalist influence, with participants expected to reaffirm that free nations should determine their own destinies.
The event is being organised by Turning Point Action, a group founded by conservative activist Charlie Kirk. The organisation said its movement is based on the principles of sovereignty, accountability and the fundamental right of nations to define their own development path.
In a statement about the summit, Turning Point Action said that at a time when “unelected and illegitimate global institutions and transnational ideologies” are increasingly attempting to erode democratic self-governance, unified voices in defence of individual liberty and sovereign borders are more important than ever.
It added that the summit would bring together those committed to protecting individual freedoms, maintaining secure and sovereign borders, and safeguarding the free exchange of ideas without fear of censorship, coercion or retaliation from what it described as an increasingly centralised global order.
