Georgia’s imprisoned former president Mikheil Saakashvili, who has recently been transported from Gori military hospital to Rustavi No.12 prison, says that he is ‘far more motivated and optimistic now’ and has called on his supporters to get prepared for a ‘decisive attack.’
“Time for the attack will come soon,” Saakashvili posted on Facebook. The third president was transferred to Gori military hospital from Rustavi prison on November 19, after his 50-day hunger strike.
Following the transfer, he agreed to call off his hunger strike and receive post-hunger-strike treatment.
Saakashvili, who returned to Georgia on October 1 after eight years in political exile, had plans to help the opposition remove the Georgian Dream government from power.
Currently he holds Ukrainian citizenship and an official post there.
He was convicted in absentia in Georgia for abuse of power back in 2018 and was sentenced to six years in prison.
Saakashvili has also been charged with five other offenses which are still in courts.
