Georgia’s former President Mikheil Saakashvili looks like a man who was dead two-three days ago, his hands are wrinkled, lawyer of the imprisoned third President Shalva Khachapuridze said Thursday.

He suggested that Saakashvili’s health “has worsened too much,” and that the ex-President had a “black color on his face.”

The lawyer said that Saakashvili was in need of “urgent treatment,” and that “it was unlikely the required treatment to be possible in Georgia.”

Saakashvili was arrested in Tbilisi in October 2021, after eight years in political exile.

He was on hunger strike for more than two months.

Saakashvili said that he needed treatment abroad, accusing the current Georgian Dream authorities of “deliberate actions against his life and health.”

The government said that all conditions are ensured for proper treatment of Saakashvili.
