Saakashvili postpones using ‘extreme form of protest’ by the end of January

Imprisoned former president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili has postponed the use of an extreme form of protest by the end of January, instead of previously stated January 6. 

He is demanding an independent group of doctors to check his health in Rustavi prison No.12 and to have an uninterrupted communication with his lawyers. 

Saakashvili believes that the postponement is likely to work better to achieve his goal. 

Meanwhile,members of the United National Movement opposition party say that Saakashvili suffers several health issues, but ‘he is working round the clock’ on Georgia’s economic programme. 

The ruling party members say that Saakashvili’s statements are ‘comic,’ including the recently initiated ‘black list’ of law enforcement and other state officials and servants. 

Saakashvili was arrested in Tbilisi on October 1 after eight years in political exile.
