Saba Buadze, a leader of the opposition party Strong Georgia, claims he and his colleagues were attacked by unknown individuals after leaving the party’s Saburtalo headquarters on Vazha-Pshavela Avenue.

According to Buadze, the attackers verbally abused them, threw stones, and brandished a knife.

“As we exited the Saburtalo office, we were ‘coincidentally’ met by provocateurs armed with insults, stones, and a knife,” Buadze wrote on social media.

Speaking to Front News, Buadze stated that the attackers mentioned his name and began hurling insults before escalating the situation.

“I was heading to my car when two strangers called out my name and started cursing at me. Then they threw stones,” said Buadze.

He further alleged that the attackers were provocateurs sent by the ruling Georgian Dream government to intimidate the opposition.

Buadze is currently undergoing questioning regarding the incident.
