Emergency Management Service warns against fire hazards amid rising temperatures

The Emergency Management Service of Georgia on Tuesday issued a warning to citizens as temperatures were expected to rise across Georgia in the coming days. The agency urged the public to refrain from lighting fires in agricultural areas, near forests, or on open fields, and to ensure that any fire pits were never left unattended.

According to the agency, both western and eastern Georgia would experience a significant temperature increase, heightening the risk of forest and field fires.

In addition to avoiding open flames, citizens were reminded that household waste could spontaneously combust, so it was crucial not to pollute the environment.

The Emergency Management Service emphasized the importance of civic responsibility during this period. If smoke or fire was detected, citizens were urged to immediately contact the Public Safety Management Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs by dialing 112.
