Georgia’s Emergency Management Service acquires 31 new fire trucks

Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) announced on Saturday that the Emergency Situations Management Service has acquired 31 new fire trucks from the European manufacturer IVECO Magirus. The delivery of these state-of-the-art vehicles will be carried out in phases.

MIA reports that Temur Mgebrishvili, Head of the Emergency Situations Management Service, personally visited the Magirus factory to familiarize himself with the new fire trucks and their advanced features.

These fire trucks, specially designed for Georgia, will be distributed across various regions of the country. They are equipped with the latest technology and high mobility features, making them particularly suitable for combating forest fires.

“The Emergency Situations Management Service is actively continuing the modernization of its firefighting and rescue fleet. Several projects are planned to enhance equipment and special technology, aimed at improving the quality of response to emergencies,” the statement reads.

The acquisition represents a significant step in enhancing the country’s readiness to handle emergencies more effectively.
