Earthquake strikes near Georgian-Armenian border

Georgia and Armenia lie in a seismically active zone, and minor earthquakes are not uncommon in the area.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.1 has been recorded near the Georgian-Armenian border, the National Seismic Monitoring Center has confirmed.
The tremor occurred at 10:11 local time on Tuesday, just 1 kilometre from the border area.
This marks the second seismic event in the region in recent weeks. A similar earthquake was registered on April 1 in the same vicinity.
