Georgian Interior Minister Sulkhаn Tamazashvili and his Armenian counterpart Arpine Sargsyan have discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation between their countries’ law enforcement agencies, during their first official contact following Tamazashvili’s appointment.

The Georgian Interior Ministry said the Armenian Minister congratulated Tamazashvili on taking office and highlighted the importance of maintaining “close and effective” collaboration between the countries.

Both sides underscored the need to further deepen existing partnerships and agreed on continuing active cooperation across key areas of mutual interest.

As part of efforts to advance ties, Sargsyan invited Tamazashvili to visit Armenia, saying the trip would provide an opportunity to expand cooperation and discuss priority issues in more detail.
