A delegation from Georgia's election administration has observed Armenia's parliamentary elections following an invitation from Armenia's Central Electoral Commission.

The delegation included Central Election Commission (CEC) Chair Giorgi Kalandarishvili, Secretary Giorgi Javakhishvili, CEC members Giorgi Dzagania and Archil Anasashvili, as well as Natia Zaalishvili, Director of the Election Systems Development, Reforms and Training Centre, and Giorgi Ezugbaia, Head of the Administrative Department.

During the visit to Yerevan, delegation members observed the opening of polling stations, the voting process and the closing procedures on election day.

They also met Armenia's Central Electoral Commission leadership and received briefings on the preparations and organisational measures undertaken to conduct the parliamentary elections.

Kalandarishvili said Armenia's election administration carried out extensive work in preparation for the vote.

The visit also provided an opportunity for Georgian election officials to meet representatives of electoral administrations from other countries and discuss prospects for future cooperation. Meetings were also held with international election observation organisations.

Armenia held its parliamentary elections on 7 June.
