Georgia appoints new heads of key energy sector companies

Several leadership changes have been made in major Georgian energy companies under the supervision of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.
According to the Ministry, new appointments have been made at the Georgian State Electrosystem (GSE), Sakrusenergo, and the Georgian Energy Development Fund.
Vano Zardiashvili has been appointed as the new General Director of the Georgian State Electrosystem. Zardiashvili brings extensive experience in the energy sector, including senior management roles. Over the past five years, he served as a board member and Director of Legal, Environmental, Social, and Permitting Issues at GSE. Prior to that, he was the First Deputy Director of Energotrans LLC. His background also includes leadership positions in legislative and auditing institutions, including serving as First Deputy Auditor General at the State Audit Office and as a member of Georgia’s 9th Parliament and the State Constitutional Commission.
Mamuka Menagarishvili has been appointed as the General Director of JSC Sakrusenergo, a decision made by the Supervisory Board. Menagarishvili has worked in the energy sector since 2009, previously holding the position of Deputy General Director at the same company, where he was involved in energy sector reforms and the management of large-scale projects.
Vladimer Dzneladze will lead the Georgian Energy Development Fund. Dzneladze has long-standing experience in Georgia’s electricity sector and held several high-responsibility positions prior to his new role, including various managerial roles within Tbilisi City Hall.
The Ministry emphasized that the newly appointed leaders bring valuable experience in energy reforms, project management, and sectoral development.
