President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan has arrived in Georgia on a state visit, accompanied by an official delegation.
According to Georgia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mirziyoyev was welcomed at Tbilisi International Airport by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili.
During the visit, the Uzbek president is scheduled to hold talks with Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili and Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
The two sides are expected to sign a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding covering various areas of cooperation, the ministry said.
Mirziyoyev is also due to lay a wreath at the memorial dedicated to those who died for Georgia's unity and attend the opening ceremony of a monument to the Uzbek poet Alisher Navoi, according to the ministry.
