French President Emmanuel Macron has appointed Olivier Courteaud as France’s new Ambassador to Georgia.
The French President’s decree nominating the new ambassador was signed on August 7.
Courteaud previously served as a Senior Administrator.
French media says he also worked as First Secretary at the French Embassy in Lisbon. Between 2005 and 2009, he was an advisor on European affairs at the Ministry of Defence, as well as Chief of Staff to the Director-General for External Security.
Courteaud succeeds Shéraz Gasri, who has served since early 2023 and recently announced the end of her tenure.
