Former Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili took to social media to highlight the ongoing unrest in Georgia, as nationwide protests against the government entered their 45th day. In a social media post, Zourabichvili condemned the authorities for escalating repressions, including arrests, alleged torture, the use of provocateurs (“titushki”), and the denial of medical assistance to detainees.

“GeorgiaProtests Day 45: Demonstrations in major cities and back to repressions: arrests and torture, ‘tituchkebis’ and deprival of medical assistance. More pressure from our European friends calling for new elections is a must,” Zourabichvili wrote.
