In a recent interview with Formula TV, Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili criticized the founder and honorary chair of the ruling party Georgian Dream (GD), and its government for “disrupting the country’s previously stable foreign policy.” Zourabichvili stated that during its initial term, Georgian Dream had followed a coherent foreign policy, but has since led the country into isolation.

“The geopolitical situation in Georgia will only stabilize when a new government is in place,” she remarked.

Zourabichvili emphasized that EU representatives have clearly indicated that under the current government and its rhetoric and decisions, there will be no improvement in the geopolitical landscape.

She expressed confidence that a future government, elected by a significant majority, would be able to restore the country’s pro-Western and pro-European policies.

“Everyone is prepared and waiting for the people of Georgia to express their will and return to a pro-Western, pro-European course. With the current pro-Russian policies, nothing will improve in this regard,” Zourabichvili concluded.
