Georgia’s fifth president, Salome Zourabichvili, addressed a crowd of protesters in front of Batumi University, expressing her unwavering solidarity with their cause.
“I did not come here to stand out—I came to stand with you, to show my solidarity, and to tell you that I will be with you until the end,” Zourabichvili told demonstrators.
She emphasized that while domestic protests continue to grow, international support for Georgia is also increasing, particularly in Europe and the United States.
“No one can intimidate Georgians when they are fighting for a free, independent, and European future. This is a just fight, and in a just fight, Georgians never lose. I wish you all strength and resilience,” she declared.
Zourabichvili reaffirmed her commitment to standing by the protesters until they achieve victory.
“The end of this struggle will be Georgia’s triumph,” she concluded.
Her visit to Batumi underscores the escalating political tensions in Georgia as civil society pushes back against policies seen as undermining democracy and European integration.
