Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili has announced her intention to leave the Orbeliani Presidential Palace, stating that she will stand with the people and carry legitimacy with her.
“I will leave this place and be with you. I take legitimacy with me. This building belongs to no one. It was a symbol as long as it housed a legitimate president. I take with me legitimacy, the flag, and your trust. This palace should be returned to the Orbeliani family—it is theirs, it was taken from them, and it will always belong to them,” Zourabichvili declared.
The President emphasized the importance of legitimacy, asserting that it derives solely from the trust of the people. “Legitimacy comes from only one source, and that source is you. Where there is no trust from the people, there can be no legitimacy. That is why I will stand with you.”
Zourabichvili also criticized ongoing events in the Georgian Parliament, describing them as a “parody unworthy of the state.”
