Georgia’s fifth President, Salome Zourabichvili, has welcomed the conclusion of peace negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, calling the agreement a “decisive step towards long-term stability” in the South Caucasus.

In a statement on social media, Zourabichvili hailed the draft peace treaty as a historic breakthrough.

“I welcome the announcement of the conclusion of negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The agreement on the draft peace treaty is a decisive step towards long-term stability in the Caucasus region. This historic achievement brings new opportunities for peace and cooperation,” she wrote.

The deal, reached on March 13, marks a key moment in efforts to resolve longstanding tensions between the two nations. While details of the treaty have yet to be fully disclosed, the agreement is widely seen as a major step toward securing lasting peace in the region.
