Georgian President pardons nine convicts

The administration of Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili announced that on December 23, the president pardoned nine convicts.
Five individuals were released from serving the remainder of their sentences in penitentiary facilities.
The remaining four had their prison terms reduced. Among those pardoned is one female prisoner.
As in previous instances, the president’s administration has not disclosed further details, including the identities of those pardoned.
This follows earlier pardons by the president: on December 5, ten convicts were pardoned; on November 25, eight; and on November 11, eleven.
