During an inspection of his carry-on luggage, law enforcement officers seized 420 narcotic pills as evidence

Officers of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs Central Criminal Police Department, in cooperation with the Customs Department of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance, have detained a man on charges of illegal acquisition, possession, and importation of narcotic substances into Georgia.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the suspect - born in 1964 - was arrested at Kutaisi International Airport. During an inspection of his carry-on luggage, law enforcement officers seized 420 narcotic pills as evidence.

An investigation has been launched under Articles 260 and 262 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which carry a penalty of up to nine years’ imprisonment.
