Sanctions tightened for carrying cold weapons

Sanctions on the carrying of cold weapons has tightened in Georgia starting from this year, with the new regulation says carrying a cold weapon in the street, yard, stadium, square, park, educational institution, court, airport, cinema, theater, concert hall, cafe, restaurant, all types of public transport, bus station, railway station and other public gathering places will stand at 500 GEL instead of 200 GEL, with weapons confiscated.
Repeated action will result in criminal liability instead of administrative responsibility.
The law shall not apply to a person who carries a cold weapon for personal hygiene, preparation or reception of food, professional activities, hunting, fishing or gathering of plant products, agricultural activities or animal husbandry.
