Moldovan President Maia Sandu commented on the decision of the Constitutional Court to declare unconstitutional her decree on the re-nomination of Natalia Gavrilitsa as Prime Minister of the country. She believes that in this case it is necessary to hold early parliamentary elections. Reported by TV8.

Sandu said she sees early elections as a priority, as the current parliament has discredited itself. According to her, the desire to form a new government from the PSRM-SHOR coalition "is an attempt to recapture state institutions.

"The only way out of the political crisis is early elections. You cannot build a strong house on a rotten foundation … The real sovereign in the state is the people, which can radically influence the situation. At early elections or in a referendum, people will decide the fate of their country," – said Sandu.

Let us remind you that on February 23, the Constitutional Court of Moldova declared Sandu's decree on the nomination of Natalia Gavrilitsa as prime minister unconstitutional.

In addition, the appointment of a new government headed by Natalia Gavrilitsa was not supported by the Parliament of Moldova. Not a single deputy voted for the candidate nominated by President Maia Sandu.
