Irakli Kirtskhalia elected as Georgian Dream parliamentary majority leader

Georgia’s ruling party, Georgian Dream, has elected Irakli Kirtskhalia as the new leader of the parliamentary majority and chairman of its faction as Mamuka Mdinaradze has been approved as the new head of the State Security Service.
The announcement was made during a parliamentary session where Speaker Shalva Papuashvili thanked outgoing majority leader and faction head Mdinaradze for his work in the legislature.
Papuashvili congratulated Kirtskhalia on his appointment and wished him success in his new role.
Alongside the reshuffle, Levan Machavariani was elected first deputy chairman of the Georgian Dream faction, while Ioseb Jorbenadze was chosen as deputy chairman.
