Tbilisi police have arrested a 1983-born man on charges of illegal possession and facilitation of the sale of a particularly large quantity of narcotics.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, patrol officers stopped the suspect during a routine check while he was moving around the city. During a personal search and inspection of locations indicated by the suspect, authorities seized 30 individually packaged units of the narcotic Alpha-PVP intended for sale.

The investigation is being conducted under Articles 260 and 260.4 of the Criminal Code, which carry penalties of up to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
