Police seize large quantities of drugs in Georgian capital, four arrested

Georgia’s Patrol Police have arrested four individuals in the country’s capital city of Tbilisi on drug-related charges, including the illegal purchase and possession of particularly large quantities of narcotic and psychotropic substances, facilitating drug distribution and the illegal cultivation of narcotic plants.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs on Sunday said officers from the Tbilisi Main Division of the Patrol Police Department conducted searches of the suspects’ persons and residences, as well as several other locations, seizing items included Mephedrone, Methadone, Alpha-PVP, Ketamine and cannabis plants, which were taken as evidence.
Investigative actions also led to the seizure of materials used for the packaging and cultivation of narcotic substances.
The crime is punishable by up to 20 years of imprisonment or life imprisonment, the Ministry said.
