Four arrested in Tbilisi on charges of large-scale drug trafficking

Officers of the Tbilisi Main Division of the Patrol Police Department under Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested four individuals at different times on charges of illegal acquisition, possession, and facilitation of the sale of large and especially large quantities of narcotic substances.
According to the Ministry, those detained include both Georgian and foreign nationals.
During searches of the suspects’ personal belongings and residential premises, law enforcement officers seized especially large quantities of narcotic substances packaged for sale as evidence. The seized drugs included clephedrone, MDMA, mephedrone, and dried marijuana.
Police also confiscated materials used for packaging narcotics.
The crimes carry penalties of up to 20 years’ imprisonment or life imprisonment.
