Five individuals, including Iranian citizen, detained in Tbilisi for drug offenses

Officers of the Patrol Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, specifically from the Tbilisi Main Division, have arrested five individuals in connection with illegal drug possession, storage, and facilitation of drug distribution.
Among the detainees is an Iranian citizen born in 1995, as well as Georgian nationals born in 2006, 2004, and 1972. Two of the suspects have prior criminal records.
According to the Ministry, the arrests were made following a series of operational and investigative actions conducted at different times. During personal searches, vehicle inspections, and raids on various locations, law enforcement officers seized large quantities of drugs prepared for sale. Among the seized substances were dried marijuana and MDMA.
The investigation is ongoing under Articles 260 and 260¹ of the Georgian Criminal Code. The offenses carry a potential prison sentence of up to 12 years.
