Negotiations between Ukrainian and US delegations in Saudi Arabia have concluded, with both sides reaching several agreements on key issues.
According to a statement published on the Ukrainian president’s official website, Ukraine expressed deep gratitude to President Trump, the US Congress, and the American people for their significant progress toward peace.
During the talks, Ukraine and the US agreed on the following points:
– Ukraine accepted the US proposal for a 30-day ceasefire, conditional on Russia’s reciprocal participation.
– The US will resume intelligence sharing and reinstate security assistance to Ukraine.
– Humanitarian issues were discussed, including prisoner exchanges, the release of civilians, and the return of Ukrainian children.
– Delegations will begin negotiations on a sustainable peace agreement with the involvement of European partners.
– The US and Ukraine agreed to sign a rare minerals agreement to strengthen Ukraine’s economy.
“Ukraine has expressed its readiness to immediately implement the US proposal for a temporary 30-day ceasefire,” the statement reads.
The ceasefire could be extended if both parties agree, provided that Russia accepts the proposal.
American officials assured Ukraine that they would communicate to Russia that mutual understanding is the “key to achieving peace.”
