US Senator Jeanne Shaheen says that the Georgian government will not be able to ignore observers’ allegations on alleged intimidation, vote-buying and pressure on voters during the October 2 municipal elections.

She has told Voice of America that the election day was ‘well-administered,’ adding that the elections are the whole process, not only one day, and that the Georgian people deserve free and fair elections.

International observers say that the Georgian election day was peaceful and well-administered, but was marred with widespread, election-related alleged violations and hardened polarisation.
