US Senator Jeanne Shaheen has strongly condemned the Georgian Dream government’s escalating violence against protestors, civil society, and political opposition. In a statement on X, she highlighted the recent attack on NGO Transparency International Georgia staff member and journalist Zviad Koridze as a troubling sign of continued hostility towards democratic principles.

“I condemn the Georgian Dream government’s ongoing violence against protestors, civil society, and their political opposition. The recent attack on @Transparency_GE staff member Zviad Koridze confirms continued hostility towards democratic norms and values,” Senator Shaheen wrote.
