Georgia and Luxembourg parliaments discuss deepening cooperation at IPU assembly

The two officials exchanged views on ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and Iran, and their broader impact on regional and European security

The Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, has met the Speaker of the Luxembourg Chamber of Deputies, Claude Wiseler, on the sidelines of an international parliamentary gathering in Istanbul.
According to the Parliament of Georgia, Papuashvili thanked Wiseler for Luxembourg’s support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Both sides discussed the importance of strengthening political dialogue and expanding parliamentary cooperation, including through reciprocal visits.
The Georgian Speaker also raised issues related to Georgia-European Union relations and outlined current challenges in that process.

The meeting took place during the 152nd session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly in Istanbul, Türkiye. The Georgian delegation also includes Nikoloz Samkharadze, chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, and Maia Bitadze, chair of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee.
