Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili has held a farewell meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Georgia Zhou Qian, discussing bilateral relations, parliamentary cooperation and regional connectivity, according to the parliament’s press service.
The meeting highlighted “successful development” of Georgia-China relations and the elevation of ties from a strategic partnership to a comprehensive strategic partnership as a new stage in bilateral cooperation.
Papuashvili also emphasised the importance of his official visit to China and the meetings held during the trip.
The two sides discussed “growing parliamentary cooperation”, prospects for the further development of Georgia-China relations and regional policy issues.
They also stressed the importance of expanding cooperation on connectivity.
Papuashvili thanked Zhou for his contribution to strengthening relations between Georgia and China and wished him success in his future work, the parliament’s press service said.
