Ukraine may receive long-range Tomahawk missiles, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a meeting with journalists on Thursday, noting that “every day brings something new” in terms of Western military aid.
The Ukrainian leader noted that his recent meeting with the US President Donald Trump yielded important outcomes, including new sanctions against Russia’s energy sector and the postponement of Trump’s meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Budapest, which Zelenskyy said was to have taken place without Ukraine’s participation.
“We do not have Tomahawks yet... We will see, every day brings something new. Who knows, maybe tomorrow we will have Tomahawks”, Zelenskyy remarked.
Speculation over a possible transfer of US Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine has intensified in recent weeks. The issue was one of the main topics during Zelenskyy and Trump’s October 17 meeting in Washington, where the Ukrainian President reportedly proposed providing thousands of Ukrainian-made drones in exchange for the missile systems. However, no formal agreement on the transfer has been announced.
