Two foreign nationals arrested on drug charges in Georgia’s Shida Kartli region

Officers of the Detective Division of the Shida Kartli Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia have arrested two foreign citizens on charges of illegally purchasing, possessing, and facilitating the distribution of a particularly large quantity of narcotic substances.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, law enforcement officers seized a particularly large quantity of marijuana prepared for distribution during searches of the suspects’ persons and residences.
Investigative actions also led to the seizure of materials allegedly used for packaging narcotics, as well as a large amount of money believed to have been obtained through drug sales.
The investigation is being conducted under Articles 260 and 260¹ of Georgia’s Criminal Code, offenses punishable by up to 17 years in prison.
