Georgian Deputy Interior Minister visits Turkey to strengthen security cooperation

Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Mariam Tabatadze, is on an official working visit to the Republic of Turkey, where she is holding high-level meetings to enhance bilateral cooperation in law enforcement and security, the body announced on Wednesday.
Tabatadze met with the head of Turkey’s National Police, Mahmut Demirtaş. The two officials discussed key priorities and the importance of ongoing cooperation between Georgian and Turkish law enforcement agencies.
Tabatadze expressed gratitude for the productive collaboration and reaffirmed Georgia’s commitment to deepening the existing partnership. She also highlighted shared efforts in regional security and the fight against cross-border crime.
As part of her visit to Istanbul, the Deputy Minister attended the IDEF 2025 International Defence Industry Fair, where she viewed a range of land, sea, and air defence technologies showcased by both local and international companies. The exhibition provided an opportunity to explore the latest advancements in defence and security systems and to gain insight into emerging technological trends in the sector.
