Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has destroyed nearly 700 kilograms of narcotic drugs seized during criminal investigations across the country, with an estimated black-market value exceeding GEL 37 million.
The destruction was carried out by a standing commission established under an order issued by the Minister of Internal Affairs. The narcotics had been confiscated during various law enforcement operations conducted throughout Georgia.
The ministry said specialists from the Forensic-Criminalistics Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia destroyed the drugs using a high-temperature incinerator that meets modern environmental standards.
The destroyed substances included large quantities of Heroin, Cocaine, Alpha-PVP, Clephedrone, MDMA, Buprenorphine, Tramadol, Diazepam, Codeine, Methadone, and Cannabis, as well as psychotropic substances and new psychoactive substances.
The Interior Ministry said the destruction process was carried out in accordance with Georgian legislation and environmental protection standards.
