The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has released a statement regarding the partial collapse of a residential building near Station Square in Tbilisi.

According to the ministry, active search and rescue operations are currently underway, and the area is being cleared of debris.

"Immediately after receiving the emergency call about the collapse of a residential building near Station Square in Tbilisi, the Ministry of Internal Affairs mobilized firefighters, rescuers from the Emergency Management Service, and police forces to the scene.

Upon arrival, firefighters and rescuers promptly evacuated citizens from the vicinity of the collapsed structure.

At this stage, debris removal and intensive search and rescue operations are ongoing. Emergency medical personnel are also present at the site,” the ministry stated.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs urges citizens and media representatives at the scene to follow official instructions and observe all safety protocols.
