Slovak President Peter Pellegrini has congratulated Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili on the occasion of Georgia’s Independence Day.
Pellegrini described the holiday as a symbol of the Georgian people’s resilience, determination and aspiration towards freedom, sovereignty and democratic development.
The Slovak president reaffirmed Bratislava’s “unwavering support” for Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence within its internationally recognised borders.
Pellegrini also said Slovakia continued to support Georgia’s rapprochement with the European Union, as well as the country’s reform agenda and pro-European course.
Referring to Kavelashvili’s recent visit to Bratislava, the Slovak leader expressed interest in further deepening bilateral relations, highlighting opportunities for cooperation in trade, investment, cultural ties and people-to-people contacts.
He added that continued dialogue and cooperation between the two countries would contribute not only to stronger bilateral relations, but also to stability and prosperity across the wider region.
