Spain sent 4 Hawk air defense systems to Ukraine

Spain has sent four Hawk air defense systems to Ukraine, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov has confirmed and added that it was a “quick reaction” to Ukraine’s request during the sixth meeting of the Ukraine Contact Group in Brussels earlier this week. 

The Minister of Defense suggested in his tweet that “ air defense is a priority not only for Ukraine, but for the whole of Europe currently”.

The contact group was created to provide military assistance to Ukraine, which is at war with Russia, uniting more than 50 countries, and is headed by the US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.

The issue of helping Ukraine with air defense systems became particularly active after Russia launched a massive missile attack on Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv, and civilian infrastructure, mainly energy facilities, on October 10.
