Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Thursday said he had initiated changes in the reglament of the legislative body to increase salaries for the next convocation of Parliament elected in 2024, claiming “no changes” were seen in this regard since 2013.

The official said current salaries of the members of the Parliament, depending on their positions, were within the range of 4,000 to 7,000 GEL, and in case of approval of the new initiative, it would see an increase between 8,000 to 10,000 GEL.

He noted the named amount included an income tax, which would be deducted from it.
