Special forces have reportedly detained Beka Korshia, a journalist and anchor for Mtavari Arkhi. According to initial reports, Korshia was last seen in the Elbakidze area before disappearing.

A friend accompanying him at the time shared details of the incident on social media, claiming that Korshia was forcibly taken by special forces. Footage released by Mtavari Arkhi later confirmed that Korshia was detained under administrative charges and transported to the Zahesi detention facility early Saturday morning.

As of December 6, 338 individuals have been detained over eight days of pro-European demonstrations in Georgia. The protests, sparked by the government’s decision to postpone negotiations on EU membership, have seen widespread unrest, with police using force to disperse participants.

The situation highlights growing tensions between protesters and the government as calls for democratic reform and EU integration intensify.
