Special truck restrictions lifted on Rikoti pass

The Roads Department of Georgia on Tuesday announced the lifting of special truck restrictions on the Rikoti pass, connecting Georgia’s east to the west. Effective immediately, vehicles with trailers and semi-trailers are now permitted to traverse this section of the road at any time of the day or night.

This decision follows the implementation of measures aimed at improving traffic conditions. 

As part of these efforts, an access road has been established at 149 km along the existing (old) Rikoti road.
