Starbucks coffee chain has left the Russian market after 15 years in business.

In early March the company suspended all business activity in Russia, including shipment of all Starbucks products.

“Starbucks has made the decision to exit and no longer have a brand presence in the market. We will continue to support the nearly 2,000 green apron partners in Russia, including pay for six months and assistance for partners to transition to new opportunities outside of Starbucks,” said the company on Monday.

“We condemn the horrific attacks on Ukraine by Russia and our hearts go out to all those affected. We continue to watch the tragic events unfold and, today, we have decided to suspend all business activity in Russia,” the company added.

Starbucks noted that they would continue to make decisions “that are true to our mission and values and communicate with transparency. Thank you for the care and concern you are sharing with me and your leaders.”
