The Joe Biden administration ensures that NATO's doors remain open to aspirant countries. This was announced by the official representative of the US State Department, Ned Price.

"This administration will ensure that NATO's doors remain open to aspirant countries when they are able to fulfill their obligations as members of the Alliance and contribute to the security of the Euro-Atlantic area. "We reaffirm our support for the open door policy enshrined in the Declaration of the Bucharest Summit of 2008, and we support the right of each sovereign country to choose whether to join any treaty or alliance, including, of course, NATO," Ned Price said at a briefing at the State Department.

A U.S. State Department official also said the U.S. will ensure that aspirant countries wishing to join NATO meet the organization's standards.
