Georgia remains among the countries with zero impact of terrorism, according to the newly released Global Terrorism Index 2025, published by the Institute for Economics and Peace, the Georgian State Security Service said on Friday.
The annual report, a comprehensive analytical document assessing the global impact of terrorism, confirms that in 2024, Georgia recorded no terrorist incidents, the agency said.
The country ranks last, alongside Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, Romania, and dozens of other states that reported no terrorism-related activity last year. With this ranking, Georgia is ahead of G7, EU, and NATO member states, including the United States, Canada, Japan, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Sweden, SSS said.
It further noted the country had demonstrated significant progress in counterterrorism efforts over the past decade. Since the publication of previous Global Terrorism Index reports, Georgia has improved its overall score by 1,933 points, achieving the highest improvement among all ranked countries.
